Introduction - importance to change activities

Studying is the main thing while getting the Master of Business Administration degree. This is what we spend most of our time on. However, it is also very important to have a good qualitative rest. Getting involved in different activities is a great way to meet new people, enjoy your time at university and ensure you strike a healthy balance between studying and your social life.
I would like to share my experience and the most interesting activities that I did during my studies.

Hiking as an option of activities + personal experience

Let me start with hiking. Taiwan has an incredible amount of hiking spots. In every city and in every region 100% you can find a very interesting hike. In addition to being absolutely good for your health, it is also a great way to spend time with friends.

Basically, hiking takes at least an hour one way, which means you spend essentially two hours talking to each other without using phones. The main rule of any hiking is comfortable clothes and, most importantly, shoes. The trails vary in difficulty. What surprised me the first time was that the trails in Taiwan are very well maintained.

Elderly people, people with children and dogs can go hiking. But there are also more difficult paths where you need to climb at sharp angles over stones on ropes. From my own experience, I can advise that it is better to start with a simpler route and then you can complicate it. There is a very handy application «AllTrails» that can be downloaded to your phone and it has all the trails on the island. The first time I went hiking near Hsinchu with my classmates.

It was an easy trail with waterfalls and comfortable steps. At the top of the mountain there was a restaurant / hotel where you can stay overnight. I was overjoyed. However, the most memorable hiking for me was in Kenting. The trail was difficult because almost all the way up it was necessary to climb on a rope. We climbed after the rain, which is much more difficult because the ground is damp and slippery. It's pretty dangerous. Be aware. But the view from the top is amazing.

Workshops as another activity + personal experience preparing matcha

Also, you can do traditional entertainment. There are many workshops and places where you can cook and make something with your hands. The most interesting thing for me was to prepare traditional matcha tea. We cooked it in a large bowl with a wooden stick. First, we poured a mixture of nuts and ground it.

Next, water is added and more of the mixture until everything turns into a homogeneous mass that can be drunk. The drink is very satisfying with an unusual taste. This is hard to buy in a restaurant or a tea shop, because everything is done by hand. It took us about 30 minutes to prepare the drink. A very interesting experience.

Nighlife as an activity + conclusion

Also, Taiwan has a developed nightlife. Almost all major cities have nightclubs and bars. Most in Taipei. Clubs are big with good infrastructure. Mostly in Taiwan, they listen to electronic music. There are view bars with a stunning view of the whole city and the tallest building, Taipei 101.

In the end, I would like to note that in my opinion everyone can find entertainment in Taiwan to their taste. I just shared some of mine. It is very important to study a lot and diligently, but it is also necessary to lead a social life in order to relax both physically and mentally.
