Internship
All the students in the NYCU Global MBA are required to gain relevant professional experience prior to graduation. This professional experience will put the global skills you acquire in our classrooms into a practical context. The professional experience requirement can be completed by a pre-approved internship. The internship period should be at least 4 weeks full-time or an equivalent 160 hours over a longer period for part-time completion.
To satisfy the internship requirement
1) Students should submit the "Proposal of Internship" (PDF) at least 6 weeks before starting the internship
2) After the internship, students should submit the "Certificate of Internship Participation" (PDF)

Regulations and Procedures of the GMBA Program at NYCU

10. Students are required to fulfill an internship in a multi-national company and provide the GMBA office with relevant documentation before graduation. Students who complete an internship must submit a
certificate of internship participation. The period of internship should be at least 4 weeks. For a request of special consideration, students should seek approval from the director of GMBA.

Infineon Technologies - June 2024 to June 2025
Ivy Huang, a Global MBA student at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, is currently working as a Procurement Specialist Intern at Infineon Technologies. In this role, she collaborates with colleagues from various global offices, including Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Germany, and China, gaining firsthand experience in managing foundry and OSAT procurement operations.
Her key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the management of global semiconductor production and engineering procurement orders, ensuring pricing accuracy in the SAP system.
- Conducting regular procurement data validation and analysis to support business decision-making.
- Serving as the procurement handler for Ardentec, overseeing procurement operations and ensuring seamless communication between Infineon and suppliers.
During her internship, Ivy successfully optimized the quotation process using Excel, reducing processing time by 40%. Once proficient in her role, she also took on the responsibility of training two new colleagues on procurement processes and authoring SAP-related training materials.
Currently, Ivy is actively learning VBA to automate SAP processes. She aims to enhance workflow efficiency and reduce manual tasks. She hopes to further optimize SAP usage by integrating automation into procurement operations and improve overall productivity.
Beyond technical skills, Infineon provides a comprehensive learning environment. The company offers structured training programs and organizes an "InternConnect" project, where department leaders deliver talks on topics such as supply chain management, engineering, and emerging technologies. This initiative not only deepens interns' understanding of the company’s operations but also fosters networking opportunities among interns.

It has also reinforced her aspiration to pursue a career in semiconductor supply chain management, providing her with a clearer direction for both career development and further studies.
2023 Internship Report Excerpts
BenQ Asia Pacific Corporation (Taiwan) - 13 April 2023 to 28 February 2024
Mai Thu Hien (Elena), a Global MBA student at National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University, worked as an eCommerce and Digital Marketing intern at BenQ Asia Pacific Corp. from April 13, 2023, to February 28, 2024.
In the eCommerce field, her responsibility was official mall technical management on the Shopee and Lazada platforms, providing sales assistance and customer service to enhance conversion rates and generate weekly and monthly reports. She contributed to increasing BenQ Vietnam's eCommerce revenue by 100% over the previous year.
In digital marketing, she created creative social media and PR content, increased BenQ Vietnam's fan page's organic reach by 100%, and increased engagement by 20% more than the previous year. She also handled translating website articles from English to Vietnamese and ensured SEO optimization.
The internship at BenQ improved her understanding of Taiwanese work culture and enriched her professional knowledge in eCommerce, digital marketing, and the electronics appliance industry.
Delta Electronic (Thailand) - 26 June 2023 to 08 September 2023
Pratchayawat Jittapiruk, a Global MBA student at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, worked as a Strategic Sourcing and Planning intern at Delta Electric Thailand PLC from June 26 to September 8, 2023. While in the Regional Supply Chain Management team, she meticulously reviewed documentation for new supplier and vendor accounts, both local and international. Her critical duties involved performing in-depth data analysis for MRO products and services, aiding in strategic planning, and detecting trends for future procurement. The experience provided her with invaluable insights into the intricacies of international business, enhancing her interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills. During her internship in the sourcing and purchasing industry, she honed her analytical skills, which proved to be a significant milestone in her journey toward becoming a versatile international business professional.
2016 Internship Report Excerpts
G-Shank (Taiwan) - 1 July 2016 to 30 September 2016
Said Ramirez, a Global MBA student at National Chiao Tung University, has interned at G-Shank’s International Marketing Department from 1st July to 30th September 2016. During the 3-month internship, his primary goals were to open new markets in The Americas (Colombia, Chile and Argentina), organizing logistics and activities for its trade shows (Electronica India, Electronica Munich), and host visiting clients in Taiwan. During weekly monitor meetings, his performance would be assessed to ensure he was meeting his targets. He successfully increased the visibility of G-Shank by developing its promotion channels and translating its website and information brochures into Spanish, Portuguese and German. To summarize, Said considers his experience working at G-SHANK as a highly valuable one because the learning process of doing business in Asia has increased his professional and interpersonal skills.
