At the beginning of 2022, precisely on January 7, my GMBA classmates planned to have a day trip to Taipei to hike at Yang Ming Mountain. One of the things, I personally cannot wait for this moment because I love to hike a mountain.
At first, I was hesitant to join since the day after I had to return to Indonesia due to a family emergency. But, for the best, I will try to join and appreciate what my friends have done for us to plan this wonderful trip.
We began our journey by waiting for the school bus in Guang-Fu Campus at 2:30 PM which will then take us to NYCU Yang Ming Campus and according to the schedule by 04:30 PM we should have arrived at NYCU Yang Ming Campus. On our journey using the school bus, the ride was pleasant.
I got to sit near all my friends and talk so much about our lives while in Taiwan and what we plan to do in Taipei. After reaching Yang Ming Campus, we were greeted by Melody and her boyfriend, who has been waiting for us there and will guide us for the tour.
After gathering with all of the friends, we started our journey immediately since it was getting late and we didn’t want to miss the view and the group pictures.
I cannot wait to view Taipei from the Yang Ming’s peak, as you probably have known that Yang Ming Mountain is located near the Yang Ming campus so we can easily hike the mountain via the campus entrance.
The stairs and the trails which lead to the mountain are quite steep for us to walk so it may be tiring for some people but at least I’m not, since the excitement outweighs the exhaustion. Probably it took us about 15 minutes of walking only from the entrance of Yang Ming Campus to the peak of the mountain.

I’m relieved that we have finally reached our destination and I’m glad that we can still take photos of the scenery since the weather is great, and we can enjoy and relax up there without worrying about the weather condition.
Our tour guide, Melody was busy creating vlogs for her YouTube videos, since she likes to post her hiking vlogs on all the mountains she has hiked so far in Taiwan.
I really liked the view from up here, we can see the iconic Taipei 101, the suburbs and the whole Taipei city in general.
Yangmingshan national forest
Besides the wonderful view of Taipei city, we also can see the spectacular scenery of Yangmingshan national forest, which covers the surrounding area with big trees, vast landscape, the rivers and natural environment.
I would like to visit the national park someday. We all climbed up to the giant pile of rocks to get the group photos together, and with the background of the Yangmingshan Forest, what a wonderful memory!
