Culture festival at NYCU

NYCU is a home to many departments and students from different backgrounds. It is possible to observe that culture diversity during the school festivals.

During the academic year there are activities that serve as a way of celebrating student life on campus - it is a great opportunity to meet students with different interests and see the plethora of clubs and student organized events that are present at campus. One of them was the recent University Anniversary Celebrations Day.

University Anniversary Celebrations Day

University Anniversary Celebrations Day on February 16th of 2022 was a special occasion that was a celebration for several good reasons: it is a traditional school anniversary as well as the first school anniversary after Yang Ming Chiao Tung merger, it was also a beginning of the spring semester and the Lantern Festival.

Prior to that day in front of Chiao Tung Campus Library’s front a huge music scene was built and two mysterious rows of venues. The next day, half were occupied by school clubs and others were international students’ association booths. Celebration was conducted by organizing school club fare with music concerts and an international day with an international market with local foods, culture items and activities.

Various Activities

Student clubs presented their various activities, each one in their own themed booth. Range of presented students’ hobbies was quite vast: from computer science related clubs such as Cyber Security Club and VTuber Club to sports clubs such as: Cheerleading Club and Kick-Boxing Club, also it’s worth noting that whatever the student interest is – it is possible to open different sort kind of club such as Coffee Club – were different kinds of caffeine fueled drinks could be made and consumed, as well as Mixology Club a venture into intricacies of making delicious cocktails.

Club that especially got my attention was mysterious “Wan-Wan Club” (汪汪社) which goal is to celebrate cuddliest campus inhabitants – the dogs of NYCU. For more information on clubs, I strongly recommend checking them on events or on the website of NYCU’s Division of Extracurricular Activities.

GMBA Member to Join School Festival

I would like to encourage every GMBA member to join school festivals on every occasion. Every time it’s different clubs, culture, people, and themes. I was so surprised to find out that two events were combined into one and to enjoy more attractions on campus that day. I hope you go out to explore and find something special for yourself.
