In this article, I'll take you on a personal journey through the Taiwanese influence in Vietnam. From cherished gadgets to nostalgic bike memories and the ever-popular bubble milk tea, discover how Taiwan has left its mark on my life and the vibrant culture of Vietnam.

Taiwanese Electronics Products

Taiwanese tech brands, ASUS and Acer, have achieved immense popularity in Vietnam, ranking third and fifth respectively in the notebook laptop market. These laptops are favored by students and professionals for their cutting-edge technology, sleek designs, reliable performance and affordable prices. I myself used two ASUS laptops and one from ACER before, and I must admit how incredibly they served! I eventually passed these used laptops to other users and upgraded my choice, but they were all in good condition.

Casio, another popular Taiwanese brand, have become a symbol of durability and style. I remember owning a water-proof Casio watch always sounded cool and edgy when I was in school and Casio watches have captured the hearts of many generations of Vietnamese students.

As Taiwan continues to maintain its reputation for tech quality and innovation, these brands are expected to maintain their stronghold in Vietnam's electronics market for years to come.

Giant Bikes

I started riding my bike to school in grade 7 and my parents bought me a Giant bike. I remember it was the most popular brand back then and almost everyone in my class owned one, whether it was an electric bike or a normal bike. I was so proud of my black Giant bike, had fun racing in the neighborhood and also had some minor “accidents” with it, that it has become an important part of my childhood memories. I think it also left the same image in other kids’ memories growing up.

Taiwanese Bubble Milk Tea

Taiwanese bubble tea has made its reputation around the world, becoming a global sensation. Originally from Taiwan, this delightful drink has been significantly popular especially because of its unique combination of chewy tapioca pearls, milk and tea flavors. In Vietnam, bubble milk tea has experienced an explosion of popularity for the past decade and has been a great refreshment option for people of all ages. Many Taiwanese tea chains have expanded rapidly across Vietnam, like Yi-fang and Coco, offering a wide range of flavors and customization options to cater to diverse preferences. The growing love for Taiwanese bubble tea in Vietnam is undeniable, bridging cultures through a delightful and satisfying beverage experience.
