The Value of GMBA Through My Lens
By Pinyo Kewdumrongtum, Class of 2025
As a chemical engineer with 5 years of work experience in Thailand, I decided to change my future path forever.
Hi everyone, I’m Yo from Thailand. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, I joined a large petrochemical company. After working there for 3 years, I realized that I did not want to spend my whole life in a production plant. At that time, I developed a strong interest in business and investment, so I planned to switch my career path from engineering to business management. I believed the GMBA program would be the right path to help me move toward the position I truly wanted.

Before starting GMBA at NYCU, I focused on what I could gain from the core courses to fill my gaps in finance, marketing, supply chain, and business development. These courses are essential foundations for the business field. However, even though I could understand the course content, I still could not clearly see how to apply it in real work situations. From that realization, I began looking for part-time jobs and internships—opportunities to apply what I had learned and to try everything I was curious about but had never had the chance to explore.
During the 2-year GMBA program, I completed two internships. These experiences made me realize that learning outside the classroom is just as important as knowledge gained inside the classroom. Through these internships, I was able to see myself more clearly and understand which types of positions and career paths fit me best.

Finally, I would like to sincerely thank the NYCU GMBA program, my classmates, and the work experiences in Taiwan that gave me such meaningful moments along this journey. For readers of this blog, this story reflects the value of GMBA through my own lens. If you are considering studying GMBA, I hope you will also discover its value through your own perspective. 🙂
